About the Dragons

Oh, and I slew the Dragon. And I went to the mountains to find myself crying about what I did. But I should forget the past and let the sorrow go for I am the dragon of this land now.

Transcendent Man (2009)

I just hope that I don't infringe anyone's rights with this.
This documentary film is one of the things that I would recommend watching to every person, who is conscious about our (i.e. human race) future. It raises questions worth thinking about. It gives predictions that are most certainly to come true.

Mamihlapinatapai

Mamihlapinatapai (sometimes spelled mamihlapinatapei) is a word from the Yaghan language of Tierra del Fuego, listed in The Guinness Book of World Records as the "most succinct word", and is considered one of the hardest words to translate. It refers to "a look shared by two people, each wishing that the other would initiate something that they both desire but which neither wants to begin."

The place of Big Bang

While checking my grammar in Google (ahem, I guess you do that too, don't you?) I have come across the following discussion at metafilter.com:
Where did the Big Bang happen?
Which is a pretty interesting issue.

Karn, the Silver Golem

As we read the post at wizards.com on Karn, we noted that not all the cards were on the list, so I decided to put here the whole list of cards with Karn on them.

And yes, I don't have access to all the wizards' art, but I still have access to some good old http://magiccards.info/ search.

How to seduce: Doctor Who style

Have you always been wondering how all companions and every other character in the series fall for Doctor right away?
Now, this Doctor Who: Confidential post will uncover his super techniques!
  1. Never say you like a person. But show your admiration in every glance, move, or gesture.
  2. Make promises about everything and ask a person to trust you. No, demand the trust in you and confirm it with questions like 'Do you trust me?' from time to time.
  3. Do not compliment much. But your compliments should be wise and well-timed. Express all your emotions of affection while saying 'You are brilliant!', gesticulation appreciated. Do not forget to compliment results of mental struggle or deduction skills.
  4. Avoid accidental body contacts, but make a big deal of your touches. For example, you can give a hug when something happened, make your foreheads touch or even kiss a forehead. These are most effective at the moments of possible lethal outcome.
  5. Ponder over saving the world/Universe/time and space continuum/yourself (optional).
Please, note that these techniques should be used on those, who are quite desperate in their lives and are waiting for their Doctor to come and save them from routine (i.e. almost everybody). They are willing to leave everything behind for adventures, so be prepared to show them some marvels, preferably journeys in time and space. But other wonders can do, too.
